ABOUT ME
I am currently a research assistant and instructor in the Department of Physics at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Türkiye. My research interests are photonics, fiber optics, wavefront shaping, and deep learning. I'm also interested in learning biophysics, and medical imaging.I completed my M.Sc. under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bayram Tekin, studying modified gravity theories and black hole thermodynamics.
During my Ph.D., with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Yüce, I focused on experimental optics. We developed a high-resolution single-pixel multimode fiber spectrometer utilizing wavefront shaping and filed two patents.

I enjoy watching movies but I'm not a cinema person (I saw my first film in a cinema when I was 15!) When I attended METU in 2008, one of my roommates in the dormitory (Sinan Küfeoğlu) was a movie monster! He once told me he would like a job where he watches movies before they are shown in cinema. He is a very successful scientist and engineer now.At those years in METU, it was possible to download movies from a file-sharing platform called "DC++". People were also chatting on this platform and sharing their status :) Thanks to Sinan and DC++, I watched many movies during my first few years in university. We were choosing movies from "IMDB Top 250" list, so most movies listed below are also from the same list. I am not a cinema guru and don't have a niche movie taste, more like a straight guy enjoying movies that most people would enjoy.Outside academia, I'm particularly engaged with literature. I like learning new things and sharing them. The Personal section functions as a blog where I share favorite poems, book recommendations, and short reflections on art and culture. This section is currently in Turkish.
